Otherwise it is called Sago Palm Weevil OR Asian Palm Weevil, the beetle grows up to 5cm in length. Normally it is rusty brown in colour and there are other colour variants also exists. Its larvae bore the trunk of the hsot plants (Palm trees), eventually cause the death of the plant. As treatment is not possible in natural way, prevention is better. It can be prevented by avoiding the mechanical damage to the softer tissues of the host plants.
