It is also referred to as the common barn owl, which is found almost everywhere in the world except polar and desert regions, Asia north of the Himalayas, most of Indonesia and some Pacific islands. Average Size is between 33 and 39 cm and the wingspan is about 80 - 95 cm. Mostly it is nocturnal and flights in silent. Feed on small mammals on ground identifying by the prey's sound. The mating pair lasts for life except one of pair get killed. It can build nests in tree hallows, buildings etc., lay around four eggs.
